Kenny Alley Waterfall Mosaic: A Community Art Success

Art Transforms Community Spaces

The Kenny Alley Waterfall Mosaic stands as a testament to what's possible when art meets community action.

The Vision

Kenny Alley was once an overlooked public stairway in the Excelsior. EAG saw potential for something beautiful—a community art project that would bring neighbors together and create a landmark.

Community Collaboration

Over six months, local artists worked with community volunteers to create a stunning mosaic depicting a waterfall cascading down the stairs. The project included:

  • 50+ community volunteers
  • 3 professional mosaic artists
  • Hundreds of hours of creative work
  • Thousands of individual tiles

Impact Beyond Beauty

The waterfall mosaic has become:

  • A gathering place for neighbors
  • A photo destination for visitors
  • A symbol of community pride
  • An example of successful public art

Art isn't just decoration—it's community building. Projects like this remind us that our neighborhood is worth investing in, worth celebrating, and worth preserving.
